side note … one of Heath {my husband} and I’s first date was a 1920’s themed company party. we were decked to the nine’s … Heath was dashing in his all black suit, black tie, black hat, black shoes and stark white shirt.  I found a fabulous vintage cream lace dress and a black velvet 20’s style hat to match.  It was an amazing night!

Portal Films … Vendor Spotlight June 24, 2009

portal films - 1

Jacki and I just ADORE Andy Jackson owner/filmaker of Portal Films from Asheville, NC.

Here is a small tidbit of how Andy describes his work …

“The films i have been creating over the course of the past few years, or at least the style i have been striving towards, is purely impressionistic.  when i say that, i mean that what i capture is not necessarily literal… love is not necessarily portrayed with a couple exchanging a kiss, nervousness is not necessarily portrayed by a bride shedding tears, joy is not necessarily portrayed by smiles and shouts….” {please read more here in the “about” section}

Andy is so talented that there are no words for me to describe … my advice is to go to Portal Films and click “Enter Gallery” and you will be able to view a three minute sample film {which I cry to every time I watch} … simply amazing!

Jacki and I are fortunate enough to work with Andy Jackson for an October wedding and we are oh so excited!

We LOVE to help our community and to be a part of non-profit organizations around Lexington, around Kentucky and just any charity that betters the lives of others!

So far this year, we’ve been able to be a part of these fabulous organizations …

* Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation

* The New Hope Haiti Mission

* Markey Cancer Foundation, Inc.

* Make A Wish Foundation

For the month of June {18th – 20th to be exact}, we will be a HALL OF FAME Sponsor for the NFL Players Association – Kentucky Chapter. Their mission statement is to identify and financially offer assistance to those organizations that enrich and enhance the lives of children in Central Kentucky. {wonderful cause} The NFL Players Association has a full weekend of events where they have a HALL OF FAME VIP PARTY, Kid’s Day at Nicholasville Aquatic Center, Golf Scramble, and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Lexington Opera House.  For more information, please contact Tammy Jones at 859.276.3488.

For July, we will be designing a stall for the 2009 Freedom Fest, with proceeds benefiting the Woodford Humane Society {much more on this in July}.

And, as always, in the fall, we are supporters of Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Are you supporting any local or national non-profit organizations?  We would like to hear about them …
