May … {where did you come from?} May 5, 2010

First, let me start off by saying … HELLO, how are you?

Second … whew … it’s been a busy year thus far, and I apologize for not blogging as much as normal {I know that apologizing for not blogging is the number one rule not to do when you’ve been an absent blogger, but I just feel the need to, so there you go, I’M SORRY … now I feel better and we can jump right in}

This blog post is just going to be chalk full of what we have been up to lately, what we have cooking for the coming months and hopefully I can throw in a few beautiful photos while I’m at it … so, let’s get started!

jacki and jaimeson, wedding and event planners …

… we are LOVING our brides!!!  For the 2010 wedding season, we are doing design for almost all of our weddings and we are just THRILLED with what we have been able to come up with!  I don’t want to let any secrets out, but I can tell you that we are doing weddings as they’ve never been done at a few Kentucky venues … it’s going to be AMAZING!  Here are a few photos from some fabulous past brides, where we also did some “first” for weddings at Kentucky venues:

first up is Katie {Miller} Willie – location was Headley-Whitney Museum and this was the first time the ceremony was down by the fence which overlooked the pond … a simply stunning location …

photo by RedTree Photography

secondly we have Regan {Ladenburger} Jernigan – location was Shaker Village and this was the first time that the ceremony happened in a circle under the tree … this proved to be the perfect layout for Regan who wanted a very intimate feel and to also include every guest in her ceremony …

Some other news that is going on with jacki and jaimeson is that we are honored to be partnering with Shelia Bayes Fine Jewelers for the Sunday Soirees.  Below is a poster with more information, but please mark your calendars for the following Sundays from 1 – 4pm … May 16, June 13, July 18 and August 15.  {stay tuned as there will be a post this week with a fabulous short video from ICVide0

Kentucky Bride Bridal Show …

… we are gearing up for our July 11th bridal show that will be held at the Lexington Convention Center, Bluegrass Ballroom.  We just LOVE this bridal show and all of the wonderful vendors that participate … we are so blessed to work with such professional and bride conscious vendors that it really makes you feel guilty for saying that it’s your “J-O-B” when in actuality, it’s really just hanging out and promoting good people and good friends … how fun is that?  There will be alot more post and information coming your way about the Kentucky Bride Bridal Show, so no need to bog you down now.  Just mark you calendar for July 11th and get your $2.00 off coupon at www.kybride.com

jacki allen’s Kentucky Bride magazine …

WOW … is only one word that I can use to describe what 2010 has been for our little baby … we are so very proud!  Thus far in 2010, the Kentucky Bride magazine has won the GOLD Addy Award in the Lexington region and the SILVER Addy for the State … we are just blown away!  Also, as you’ve been reading and hearing about, we are now a quarterly publication … see our lovely first two front covers below …

Winter 2010 issue

Spring 2010 issue

On top of producing the magazine quarterly, we have finalized all of our State-wide distributing!  This has been a very long process {sometimes you just never know what you’re getting into}, but with only five issues under our belts, we are the most widely spread distributed Kentucky based Bridal Magazine in the State!  WOW … again, that’s all I can say.  The Spring 2010 issue has already been SOLD OUT in some newsstands {after two weeks!} and we just continue to blush as to how well we are being received not only by brides, but by the businesses that see the benefit of Kentucky Bride! {don’t worry you can still order a Spring 2010 issue online}.  The Summer 2010 issue will hit the newsstands in July!

Oh My Gosh … I have so much more stuff to tell, but it will take forever and I’m sure that I have not provided enough photos to keep you interested, so I will leave with a few bullet points of things to look for in the coming days, weeks and months on the blog …

* Vendor Spotlights

* Sunday Soiree Highlight Video

* The Diamond Dash … oh, this is going to be so much fun … can’t wait to tell you the details

* More Celebrate Kentucky companies

* Kentucky Bride Magazine Survey {I promise I will get this information posted}

There’s more, but I have to keep you on your toes {and visiting the blog} … so stay tuned.

Style Me Pretty Feature … April 6, 2010

We are BLUSHING … red rosy cheeks and all …

Remember our POST from a few days back in regards to Andy Jackson with Portal Films???  Well, that stunning short film of our lovely couple {Regan and Micheal} is being featured today on Style Me Pretty!!!

Style Me Pretty – Kentucky Wedding by Portal Films

Jacki and I couldn’t be more excited or thrilled for how happy Regan and Micheal were about their wedding! We feel that their true emotion for each other, their journey and their glorious wedding day couldn’t be put in a better format than what Portal Films has shown in this short film.  Seriously, you will need your tissues … {I still get teary eyed and I’ve seen the film a hundred times}.

Please go on over to Style Me Pretty and check it out

As a side note, but just as important, we are honored to have been chosen to be a Little Black Book Member for the second year in a row {2009, 2010 and counting}.

EXTRA – EXTRA – Read all about it … February 10, 2010

We are BLUSHING {rosy red cheeks}!!!

Our Kentucky Bride magazine is selling like HOTCAKES!!!

They are flying off the shelves at Joseph-Beth – Barnes & Noble – Walmart – Target and more.

We are also seeing our number of Kentucky Bride magazines being sold online continue to rise.  Not only are we selling more magazines online, but the readers we are reaching continues to grow.  So far for the Winter 2010 issue, we have shipped magazines to Chicago, IL – Aurora, CO – Rocky River, OH – Brea, CA and our furthest location … IRELAND!!!

What do we do with all of this Excitement?  We share it … of course!

So, for ALL magazine ONLINE sales during the month of February {and yes, we will start with Feb. 1 – Feb. 28}, we will DONATE ALL PROCEEDS to the Melanoma Awareness Project developed by Jacki and Jaimeson AND Central Baptist Hospital!!!  Jacki’s personal story of her battle with Melanoma is in this Winter 2010 issue. {We will let you know in March how much was donated}

Haven’t gotten your copy yet?  Simply click HERE

You do have your copy, but would like to send a copy to your Mother, future Mother in Law, Maid of Honor, Bridesmaids … or even your sweet flowergirl who is dreaming of “her” big day right now {you know how kids love getting mail with their name on it}!  Simply click HERE

Again, THANK YOU so much for supporting Kentucky Bride magazine {and now} for also supporting the Melanoma Awareness Project.

celebrating you …

Lovely Canvas … February 5, 2010

Let me set the scene …

* New Offices {we moved to our current location in May}

* New Paint {we painted everything – and our signature green is on one wall in every room – very fun}

* NEED – new photos

This is where Josh Perkins with RedTree Photography comes into the “picture”!!!

Josh, the gentleman that he is, offers to do three canvases for our new space with our choice of photos.  How thoughtful and generous!

We’ve worked on some AMAZING weddings where RedTree Photography was involved so we knew the two weddings that we wanted to focus on.  From there – it took us a while – as there were so many beautiful photos.

We narrowed it down to the three below … {two of them are on our green walls}

If you would like to see more of Josh’s work, then you can go HERE, HERE and HERE {click on gallery}!
